Douglas “Doug” Paul passed away Monday afternoon at Crouse Hospital surrounded by the love of those who meant the most to him.
Doug was a devoted husband, loyal friend, and a man of quiet strength and resilience. Together for 42 years, he shared an extraordinary life with his beloved wife Leesa. Together they built a marriage founded on unconditional love, laughter, perseverance, and unwavering commitment. Through every joy and every challenge, they faced life side by side.
Doug will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and determination. Despite the many health challenges he faced over the years, he continued to meet each day with courage and inspired those around him with his perseverance. His greatest happiness was simply being home with Leesa, enjoying the comfort of their life together and the companionship of their beloved dog, Molly.
He was predeceased by his parents, Audrey and Sparky Paul, and his brother-in-law, Tim Sprague.
His family includes his beloved wife of 42 years, Leesa Paul; his brother, David (Antoni) Paul; his sisters, Lori (John) Kozlowski, Linda (Scott) Eckler, Lisa (Fred) Mento, Diane (Guy) Raymond, and Debbie Caviness; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom will cherish his memory.
Doug’s family would like to thank the physicians, nurses, therapists, and caregivers who cared for him with compassion and dignity throughout his illness.
A celebration of Doug’s life will be private for the immediate family.
Contributions to Leesa to help offset medical expenses would be most appreciated.
