Beatrice “Bea” Jacobson, 96, died Thursday evening at the Gurwin Jewish Nursing Facility on Long Island, NY. Formerly of Harwood Avenue, Bea was a life resident of Syracuse until moving to Long Island, NY to be closer to her family. Bea was active in the Syracuse Jewish community; as a former member and president of the sisterhood of Congregation Ahavath Achim; a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun and the seniors group of the Temple; the seniors group at the JCC; and a volunteer at Menorah Park.
Her husband Frank died in 1994.
Her family includes her daughter Sharon Lev; her son Murray Jacobson; grandchildren Audrey, Stacey, Michael, Freddie, and Mark; and great grandchildren Alex, Jacob, Zeeva, and ZaynaFuneral services will be at 2PM Thursday March 16 at Sisskind Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit with the family immediately prior to the service on Thursday from 1PM to 2PM at the funeral chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street. Burial will be in Ahavath Achim Cemetery.
Contributions in Bea’s memory may be made to the senior meal program at the JCC.

Dear Sharon, I was very sorry to learn of your mom's passing. My mother passed in 2013. It is very sad and I still miss her, but we were very lucky to have had our mothers live to be so old. I remember your mom with fondness from our school days. She was fun to talk with about things. Take care and remember the good times. Regards, Dale
