My sympathies for your loss to all the Feldmans. Dan, or Mr. Feldman, which is how i still refer to him was a large force in shaping me academically and personally in the 7th and 8th grades. He had enormous enthusiasm and compassion in the classroom and great patience for outspoken students like me. I still remember where he was at the start of WWII, watching Disney's The Reluctant Dragon, when theater mgr announced the start of the war. HE brought history alive for many of us!

Sorry for your loss and the loss to the JD and SU communities. Mr. Feldman was more than just a social studies teacher, he was a teacher of life. He shared more than just classroom lessons with his students. My mother, another JD teacher, held Mr. Feldman in high regard. That's something when you get a vote of confidence from your peers. Mr. Feldman will be missed. May his life be a blessed memory.

Mr. Feldman was my 5th grade teacher from 1964-1965 at Moses DeWitt Elementary. He was a great and motivating teacher. I remember so many things about him. He was a guardian of truth and wanted all people to be treated equally. He would occasionally talk about his personal experiences in life, and made sure I understood that the First Amendment Right was perhaps the most important right a person could have. I am grateful for his dedication to this principle and his great teaching style. I only knew of his passing because I wanted to reach out to him and tell him how much I appreciated having him as a teacher. God rest his soul.
