Sylvia Sattler, 97, died early Friday evening at The Syracuse Home in Baldwinsville. Born
December 4, 1919 in the Bronx to Jacob and Anna Droisin, she had lived most of her life in the New York area until moving to Syracuse in recent years to be closer to her daughter.
Sylvia was a teach in the New York City schools until retiring. She was always involved in her community but most importantly always strived to make a difference in the lives of the young children she taught. Her dedication and care certainly achieved that goal.
Her husband Eugene died in 1981.
Her family includes her children Pauline Williamson of Liverpool, her son Gordon Russell of Dallas, TX; her sister Regina Weiss of Tinton Falls, NJ; and her grandchildren whom she adored.
Graveside services will be in Mt. Judah Cemetery, Queens, NY on Tuesday, August 22.
