My heart is broken to hear of the passing of Don. He was a student of mine and friend since his 7th grade. Don was kind and caring man. Susan, my prayers are with you . Please let me know what I can do for you. We will be in Vermont Tuesday and will not be able to make the services. I think you know how important Don was to me and are you. My love you. Tom Muench

I am so sorry. I met Don in the early 80s when he was at Kay Bee toys and a nicer man I could not imagine. I always scheduled a visit to his store when I was having a bad day cause I knew he was a soft place to land, so to speak. I saw Don over the years and even though he went through trials and health problems he always remained the greatest guy. My deepest sympathy to Susan and Don's extended family at this most difficult time.

Hello Susan, what can I say, where have the years gone, when ever I am in the Syracuse area, and I end up passing by the target store in Fayetteville, where the Fayetteville mall once stood, I reminisce about the good and simple times of the late 70's working for Don at Kay-Bee. As many years as it has been it still seems like yesterday. I consider myself blessed to have had the opportunity for Don to be an influential participant in the earlier days of my life. Don was the only boss I ever had that I could say was a friend as well as a boss. I was always respectful of him at work that he accepted me in his personal life outside of work. I remember your wedding like it was yesterday. I will always carry the spirit of Don in my heart and thoughts. I hope my thoughts and words bring you a sense of peace and comfort during this difficult time especially knowing that, for the short period of time that I interacted with Don that he was an inspirational influence in my life.
