Michael Saks, 61, died early Friday morning at SUNY Upstate Hospital. Born October 31, 1955 to Aaron and Mary Saks in Passaic, NJ he had been a resident of Syracuse for the past 15 years. While living in NJ Michael worked at Prudential’s office in Newark. In Syracuse he worked for SU in the law library.
Michael loved music; played piano and guitar; and was an avid sports fan, especially the Mets.
His family includes his wife Jamie of 26 years; his in-laws Cyril and Ellie Freeman; his mother Mary Saks; his sister-in-law Beth (Scott) Freeman-Warren; his niece Arielle; his nephew Brandon; and his brother Paul (Roe) Saks.
Funeral services will be at Sisskind Funeral Chapel, 3175 E. Genesee Street, at 10AM on Sunday October 8. There will not be any calling hours prior to the service.
Burial will be in Frumah Packard Cemetery.
Contributions in Michael’s memory may be made to Temple Adath Yeshurun.
Shiva will be observed Sunday from 7-9, and Monday from 2-4, and 7-9 at Cyril and Ellie’s home. www.sisskindfuneralservice.com
