Janice Frank

Janice Frank, 87, died early Monday morning at The Nottingham. Born in Cleveland, OH, she and her late husband Warren were married March 1950 and raised their family in Syracuse.
After raising her family she pursued a professional career and returned to Syracuse University to earn a Masters degree in social work. After receiving her degree Suma Cum Laude she was in private practice and also worked for The Onondaga County Department of Mental Health. She eventually became a director of the department.

Janice was a board member and actor with the Salt City Playhouse; a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun; the building drive at Temple Adath; a board member and actor with the Palm Springs Playhouse; and a board member of NIP- new identity process.

Her love for her husband Warren of 60 years, and their family are her legacy.

She was predeceased by her husband Warren in 2010, their son Jeffrey in 1981, her sister Elaine Rosenfeld; and her brother Chuck Glueck.
Her family includes her children: Gary (Bonnie) Frank, Pam (John) Renock and Penny (Scott) Doubeck; grandchildren Jason and Rachel Renock, Joshua, Michael and Sam Doubek; and Jessica (Yedidya) Witt; and great grandchildren Mendel, Noam, Bracha, and Gavriel.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM on Tuesday November 21 at Sisskind Funeral Chapel.
Friends may visit with the family immediately prior to the service on Tuesday from 1 to 2 PM at the funeral Chapel 3175 E. Genesee Street. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun cemetery.

Shiva will be observed at Pam and John’s home Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 7-9PM

Contributions in Janice’s memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association of CNY.

So sorry for your loss. I knew Janice from the Mental Health Department. We became friends and I knew Warren also. She would have parties at their home and we always attended. She will be greatly missed.

Penny, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Mom. The energy and enthusiasm your parents had for life was always evident in you and I'm sure is shown in your children. My prayers are with you and all your family. Love, Helen
