Bessie Spector Greenberg

Bessie Spector Greenberg, 90, died Wednesday at Crouse Hospital. Born in 1926 to Phillip and Fannie Spector she had lived most of her life in Syracuse. Bess was a 1947 graduate of Mt. Sinai School of Nursing with an RN degree. She was the first Director of Nursing at James Square Nursing home when it opened. She continued her professional career until retiring at 79.
Bess was a life-long member and volunteer at Temple Adath Yeshurun; the sisterhood of the temple; and a past president of the evening sisterhood at the Temple.
Bess was beloved by everyone who was privileged to have known her.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Irving in 1969, her sisters Rosalie Rossoff and Marilyn Kamp, and her brother Joseph Spector.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Joan and Lon Lowenstein, her cherished granddaughter Peri, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at noon on Monday December 18 at Temple Adath Yeshurun. There will be no calling hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Adath Yeshurun Cemetery.
Shiva will be observed at Joan and Lon’s home Monday through Thursday from 2-4, and 7:30 to 9PM, and Saturday from 7:30 to 9PM
