Jill Levek, 73, of Auburn passed away April 6, 2024 at The Commons. Jill was born July 30, 1950 in Auburn to Evelyn and William Levek. She attended Auburn Schools special education programs and was a long-time participant in programs and services through Mozaic.

Besides being active with bowling, bingo, crafts, and work, she loved the performing and visual arts provided by the Spotlight Studio program. She was frequently working on a song, often selected from Broadway shows, pop music or a standard. Her colorful and expressive paintings grace her family’s and friend’s walls.

Jill showed enthusiasm in many ways including her long history as a member of the Temple B’nai Israel congregation and as a performing artist. She took great pleasure and delight in family and friends. Her openness to people and social situations brought countless friends into her life. Jill was fond of giving family, friends and staff humorous nicknames which will forever bring smiles. Her cheery disposition was inspiring.

She is survived by her sister Amy (Telluride, CO), brother Ben and sister-in-law Karen Maginn (Lubec, ME), nephews Jacob (Lulu) and Zach (Theresa) Levek and great nephews Isaac and Rafael (Denver, CO).

Jill’s family wishes to thank many people who supported and help her achieve abundantly positive life experiences and accomplishments. Heartfelt thanks to the Mozaic staff whose care and compassion were unparalleled. Special thanks to two Auburn Mensches: Bob Piorun who encouraged her music and singing interests and Steve Kline who ensured Jill was an active member of Auburn’s Jewish community.

Jill inspired those who knew her through her determination and purpose. She will be forever remembered for giving it a go and being filled with and sharing love.

Funeral services will be at 11AM on Thursday, April 11 in the Bradley Chapel at Fort Hill Cemetery, accessed through the main gate to the Cemetery from Fort Street. There will not be a visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow in the B’nai Israel section of the cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Spotlight Studios, c/o Mozaic, 1521 Clark St Rd, Auburn, NY 13021 www.sisskindfuneralservice.com

My cousin Jill was an amazing human being. She lived her life as she had no disability and always wanting to be an independent person. She so loved her family, Amy and Ben and Karen, Jacob, Zach, Lulu, Teresa, and the her great nephews Isaac and Raphael. She adored that she was finally a great aunt. And let's not forget the dogs of the family, she was the Aunt to Ben and Karen's Fiona! What a brave woman to have her Bat Mitzvah as an adult and I watched her as she recited the words she so diligently studied for all those months. It was a proud day for sure. She remembered so many things, birthdays of the family and delighted in talking about baseball. She went through many years of her life without her loving parents and yet still wanted to be independent. We all learned so many things from Jill and I will forever be "Barbie Dreamhouse" as that was her favorite title for me! I will miss you Jill as we all will and love you forever! Your Barbie Dreamhouse cousin! AKA Barb Shapiro

I will miss Jill so much at Butera Drive. We enjoyed so many things together but my favorite will always be watching Lawrence Welk with her and listening to her sing. She would always find songs from there that she wanted to sing for Spotlight. Jill , Thank You for being you! I will love and miss you always

I'm sorry for your loss. Jill is a beautiful soul who's enthusiasm just made my day. She worked hard to be independent, but loved being part of the Level/ Chadwick family. I will miss our breakfast dates and hearing about her nephews, great nephews, Ben, Karen, Amy, the dog, and cats. I will also continue to admire her tenacity.
